BIPOC Therapy Group in Brookline, MA
The Return Home Project
Healing Beyond Survival
The Return Home Project is a therapy group for BIPOC adults in Brookline, Boston and the Greater Boston area. This process-oriented group explores self-criticism, perfectionism, racialized stress, belonging, emotional wellbeing, and healing in community.
Many of the experiences we struggle with, such as self-criticism, perfectionism, emotional suppression, and burnout, do not develop in isolation. This group explores how these patterns can develop in response to our lived experiences and broader social, cultural, and historical contexts.
Before asking participants to change these patterns, the group encourages them to understand where they came from and how they may have helped them navigate difficult experiences.
Grounded in self-compassion, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and culturally responsive frameworks, this group supports participants in developing greater self-understanding, emotional wellbeing, and connection.
Who Can Benefit from a BIPOC Therapy Group?
This group is designed for adults who identify as Black, Indigenous, and/or People of Color (BIPOC).
Including individuals who identify as African American, Hispanic or Latine, Asian or Asian American, Middle Eastern or North African (MENA), Indigenous, multiracial people of color, and individuals from other racialized communities.
This group may be a good fit for BIPOC adults who:

Benefits of Group Therapy

The goal is not to simply reduce symptoms, but to help participants understand themselves with greater context and compassion.
Participants can:
Connect with others who may share similar experiences
Explore identity and belonging
Understand survival-based coping patterns
